The latest and final release of WiiScrubber 1.30 was just released a few days ago by its developer Dack. Use WiiScrubber to prepare any Wii or GameCube ISO for compression to trim its disk space. By replacing unused portions of the full disk image with the same bit, it allows a compression tool to offer better compression and make the file smaller. Scrubbing an ISO is always useful if you’re sending or sharing an ISO with other people or for personal backup storage purposes as normally each ISO is 4.7GB. It also allows you to extract and replace files within an ISO image. WiiScrubber 1.30 comes with a list of new improvements:
- Extra options on right click menu related to partition operations (you can now delete them and resize the data area)
- Increased speed of file replacement by blocking it (and progress bar)
- More accurate indication of size as headers are now included in calculation and dynamically considered when header button pressed
- Extra option on right click for WIIDISC as it allows for changing between system boot and normal boot
- Common key check possible to over-ride in case Korean key becomes available
- Can now replace the partition.bin file
- Can add data partitions/channels
- Can ’shuffle’ up the partitions to the start of the disc for where some have been deleted – doesn’t use Trucha bug
- Can Shrink the partition by moving the data up in the partition (meaning all the free space then appears at the end – Uses Trucha Bug
- Can save a decoded partition
- Can load/replace a decoded partition
- Can import a new disc partition
- Can resize a partition
- Can cater for discs that have non-standard disc IDs by using the ‘force wii’ check box e.g. iso_template.iso.bz2
- Can extract/replace the sub parts of partition.bin i.e. tmd.bin, cert.bin and h3.bin
Steps to Run WiiScrubber
- Download WiiScrubber 1.30 and extract the files
- Run “MakeKeyBin.exe” and enter “42″ as instructed and then click “GENERATE.” to create the key.bin file necessary to run WiiScrubber. (Don’t ask me why Dack didn’t just give it to you).
- Click “Load ISO” and browse to the ISO image you want to prep for compression.
- Scrub the ISO. The process takes about half an hour.
- After the ISO is scrubbed compress it as a RAR or 7-Zip for best results.
For more details on the tool check out the documentation that comes with the WiiScrubber package.

How small does an iso file go when you scrub or compress it?
I’ve seen as low as a few hundred megabytes, depending on how (un)complicated the game is.

Perhaps he is a fan of Douglas Adams’ “Hitchiker’s Guide To The Galaxy”. In this book series 42 is the answer to “Life, The Universe, and Everything”

Or it could just be the fact that giving out a key.bin file is illegal.
Ummmmm…..what is a key.bin?
Thanks in advance.
Can someone help me with the key generator. I am using linux, and wine will run the wiiscrubber, but not the key generator.

I ran this on linux with wine, both the keygen and the wiiscrubber app without problems…maybe update your wine
WiiScrubber 1.4 released.
It support multigames on the same ISO!
I’ve injected a more appropriate icon into the WiiScrubber executable. It’s a solid piece of software and I felt it needed an icon that reflected that quality. Send me an email if you’d like me to share it with you.
If I have a 7 GB game can I shrink the ISO to fit on a 4.7 GB DVD so that I can play the back up with out burning it to a DL DVD?
Thanks
