Simple way to change other user passwords with limited accounts on Windows XP home or Pro.
1. Go to the Start Menu
2. Hit “Run”
3. Type in “cmd” (This will take you to the windows command prompt)
4. In the command prompt Type in “net user”
(this will give you all the user accounts on the current computer)
5. Then type in “net user ACCOUNTNAME *”
(ACCOUNTNAME being the account you wish to change)
6. The command Prompt will then ask you to enter a new password and confirm.
7. Happy password changing!

Yeah i guess it works fo sho bro but the only problem is, how can u type in a 2 word user name!
easy fix to that problem, just surround the user name with quotes
example: net user “User Name”
system error has accourred
it give me access denied

Hi Deb,
You typed in the wrong user name, that is why you are getting that error. Make sure you have the correct user name and it should work with no problems.
How do i find out the correct user name what am i looking for.
In the command prompt Type in “net user”
(this will give you all the user accounts on the current computer)
Copy and paste that here and i could help you with that, but it should list them all on the screen
if there is a space in the name you are going to need to use “”
like this: net user “Son Riku”

Now you have a list of account names like “Administrator” or “ASPNET” so just follow from step 5.

look at the comment above yours, copy what he typed in. Its weird it didnt work for him though.

how do i change the password i forgot it and i logged it as a limited user account i followed the steps but in the end it dint show me the type a password for the user then retype password to confirm it only says the command complete successfully need help

Please elaborate? I don’t understand? Do I enter my name “heinjac12″ or the user set name above “tabletmaster”?

All of you guys getting “Access Denied” messages: this won’t work if you’re not an admin on the computer. You need to have at least local admin rights (don’t need network admin), otherwise there would be NO point in having passwords at all – every user would just type this command and get full access to the system!
If you don’t have local admin rights, you have to hack the admin account first. There’s no 3 second command to do that. If you don’t understand why, you aren’t smart enough to be playing with this stuff in the first place.
