iPhone 2G 3.1 Custom Firmware 7C144 Windows

Yes, we still use the iPhone 2G, got a problem with it? The aluminum back still looks better than the newer iPhones and resists scratches better. At any rate, if you’re like us, and have been wanting to upgrade your iPhone to the latest 3.1 firmware released a few days ago, you’re in luck. Windows users traditionally have been the last to get these updates since PwnageTool is a Mac only tool. But if you’ve got a nice friend, or in this case a nice blog like Code Retard, then you may get lucky and have someone create a vanilla custom restore firmware, iPhone1,1_3.1_7C144_Custom_Restore.ipsw to be precise, for you so you can go ahead and simply use your regular old iTunes to perform the complete 2G jailbreak and unlock.

If you want to unlock and jailbreak your iPhone 2G on 3.1 firmware, follow these steps:

Download the iPhone1,1_3.1_7C144_Custom_Restore.ipsw file (password is "coderetard").
Upgrade your iTunes to the latest 9.0 version.
Turn your iPhone off.
Connect it to your PC or Mac via USB cable.
Bring it into DFU mode. To do so, press and hold the Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds, let go of the Power while continuing to hold Home for another 10 seconds, and by then your computer will beep and Windows will detect a DFU device.
iTunes will automatically launch and ask if you want to restore the iPhone.
Shift click or option click on the "restore" button and find the custom firmware 7C144 ipsw for iPhone 2G you downloaded in step 1.
Sit back and enjoy the show on your iPhone.

For Windows users, if you get error 1600, your iPhone is not in DFU mode. Try this button-free approach and see if it helps. For Mac Users, download PwnageTool and use it to put your iPhone in DFU mode.

Download DFU.zip. Extract it to C:’ drive so that it is located in C:’DFU
Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes.
Go to Start -> Run
Type “c:’dfu’dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu” without the quotes.
Wait for iPhone to show a white screen.
Then proceed with the restore in iTunes.

Wii Hard Drive Hack: Load Wii Games Off a Hard Drive

Nintendo’s system menu 4.0 update provided a long-awaited storage solution in the form of SDHC support up to 32GB. Whoopee. Now we’ll tell you how you can actually load Wii game backups off a hard drive with this Wii hard drive hack for a real storage solution. Taking advantage of Nintendo’s 4.0 update support a costly solution since you are required to buy pricey SDHC cards, and it’s limited in size as well. With the Wii hard drive hack we’re about to discuss, you can load games off any USB hard drive with much higher storage capacities. Expensive 32GB flash? Psh, try cheap 320GB HDD. And not only that, if you’ve got any USB stick pen drives lying around, they will work just as well. Plus to top it all off, you will see a huge performance benefit as your games will load much faster as they’re being read off the hard drive compared to the slower DVD disc drive.

First of all, let’s list the hardware requirements for the Wii hard drive hack:

Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess (if you don’t have Wii Homebrew Channel)
SD card
USB hard drive
Wii system menu 3.3 (3.4 and 4.0 were untested as our Wiis did not have these installed, but anything 3.3 and prior should work)
Wii mod chip

And now, here are the much anticipated steps:

Install the Wii Homebrew Channel. If you don’t already have the Wii Homebrew Channel manager installed, you’re doing yourself a great disservice. It’s an absolute must for running great user-contributed homebrew apps on your Wii. If you’ve already got it installed, you can skip ahead to step 11. Otherwise to install it you’ll need to use the Twilight Princess hack. This means you need to have played Twilight Princess at least once on your Wii and had a game saved.
Format an SD card to FAT16 or FAT32.
Pick the proper game save to load based on the Twilight Princess version you played. More details can be found in our Twilight Princess hack guide.
If it does not already exist, make a directory called “/private/wii/title/RZDx/” on your SD card; replace “RZDx” with RZDE (US), RZDP (Europe) or RZDJ (Japan) as appropriate based on the inner circle text which varies depending on the version of Twilight Princess you played. Copy the correct “data.bin” file you chose from the hacked Twilight Princess gamesave package with the matching directory path into the directory you created on your SD card.
Copy the Wii Homebrew Channel hbc101-boot-dol.zip file to the root folder of the SD card (note that this is for 3.3 menu update and earlier, other versions can be found here). Extract the file which should be named boot.dol. You can delete the .zip package after you extract the boot.dol file.
Now, put the SD card into your Wii and turn it on. Go into Wii Options –> Data Management –> Save Data –> Wii.
Find your Zelda save, click on it, and click “Erase”, and click Yes.
Now, go into SD card, and select the “Twilight Hack” save (the icon says “Wiibrew Loader”). Click copy, and yes. Now, go back out of that menu.
Insert Zelda, and run the game. Load the file corresponding to the correct save slot as indicated in the table here (US only), and either walk backwards, or talk to the guy that’s standing in front of you. Worst case you picked the wrong file and try the other one.
Now the Wii Homebrew Channel will install itself as its own channel in your Wii menu. Follow the prompts to complete the install. You can delete the boot.dol from your SD card now.
Download Waninkoko’s custom IOS36-rev10 installer.
Create a directory "/apps/cios36r10" on your SD card.
Extract the cIOS36 zip to a directory. Grab the cIOS36_rev10-Installer.dol file and copy it to the "/apps/cios36r10" on your SD card.
In the "/apps/cios36r10" folder on your SD card, rename cIOS36_rev10-Installer.dol to boot.dol.
If your Wii has a network connection to the Internet, you can skip this step. Otherwise, download the IOS36-64-v1042.wad file and save it to the root of the SD card. You will have the option to install this later.
Now create a directory "/apps/usbloader" on your SD card.
Download WiiShizzza’s USB Loader Ultimate v7 homebrew to "/apps/usbloader" on your SD card.
In the "/apps/usbloader" folder on your SD card, rename UltimateV7.dol to boot.dol. For extra credit, you can read up on how to set up a config.txt for the USB loader, or else just use ours. Yes the screenshot’s directory name doesn’t match up, but we’ve changed the folder name in case you wish to go the extra mile and install the USB loader wad which is hard coded to look in the usbloader directory. WAD installation is covered in our Animal Crossing/WiiKey guide from step 13 onward.
Insert the SD card into your Wii’s SD slot and turn it on. Then open the Wii Homebrew Channel and start it.
The homebrew channel detects any homebrew you’ve saved to the SD card. Load the cIOS36-rev10 installer by clicking on it.
At the prompt, click “Load” to run the cIOS36 installer.
You’ll hear some cool music. Read the disclaimer carefully, and if you agree press the A button on your Wii remote.
At the next screen, choose whether you wish to perform a network install or not by pressing left or right. Then press A to continue.
As the install commences, do not panic if the music stops. Once the install completes (about 2 minutes), restart by pressing any button.
Now let’s test if the USB loader homebrew will work correctly. Load it from the Homebrew Channel.
If the install went through correctly, you should see this:

Now your Wii is ready to load games off the USB port in the back. Getting games onto the USB hard drive is a whole other process. You will need to have Wii game disc ISO backups available if you wish to play them off the Wii hard drive.

Download WBFS Manager 2.2.2 (other editions available here). Believe us, it’s the best WBFS game hard drive manager we’ve tried and we’ve tried a lot.
Extract the zip to a folder and open it. Double click setup.exe to install it. Note that it will install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 if you don’t already have it installed.
Connect your USB hard drive or USB stick to your computer. Note the drive letter that Windows assigns it.
Now launch WBFS Manager. Select the drive letter of your soon to be Wii hard drive and click the “Format” button.
At the lower right of WBFS Manager, click the “Browse…” button and browse to a valid Wii ISO file.
Then also on the lower right, click the “Add to Drive” button and it will begin copying the ISO file over to the Wii hard drive.
Even if your Wii ISO’s are full 4.7GB images, the WBFS manager is smart enough to strip out the empty unused bits so many games will actually be less than 4GB. Keep repeating steps 5 and 6 until you’ve loaded as many ISO game backups as you wish. Keep your eye on the free space of your hard drive though.
Your Wii hard drive is now ready to be used. Load the USB Loader homebrew and when it displays “Waiting for USB device,” connect your new Wii hard drive and the USB loader will show all the games you’ve copied to your Wii hard drive in the menu. To play any game, just press the A button on your Wii remote.

Now you can play any game as if it had been inserted through the DVD disc drive except with better load times.

Wii System Menu 4.0 Update Breaks Twilight Hack, Homebrew Channel Survives

If you’ve been thinking of updating to Wii System Menu 4.0 you may want to hold off. Despite the greatest improvement offered by the 4.0 update – a storage solution for Virtual Console and WiiWare games (up to 32GB possible with SDHC) – it may come at a cost to some Wii gamers. If you’ve been relying on the famed Twilight hack to launch your own homebrew, it won’t work any longer as the exploit has finally been patched by Nintendo. Considering that homebrew gamers have been able to use the Twilight Princess hack for a solid year, it has definitely served its purpose for the homebrew community well even if it’s permanently gone.

And speaking of homebrew, if you have the Homebrew Channel already installed, the Wii system menu 4.0 update will actually still allow you to run homebrew via the channel so you can still run awesome hacks like the Wii hard drive hack. It won’t work if you try to install it after updating to 4.0, so if you must upgrade then do yourself a favor and install the Homebrew Channel before you update at the very least. Consider it your last farewell to the TP hack.

How to Jailbreak iPod Touch 2G 2.2.1 (Untethered & No Custom Boot Logo)

Thanks to the advances made by the iPhone Dev Team, the iPod Touch 2G is finally jailbreak-able without requiring tethering to your computer or fiddling with boot modes. This is an unofficial redsn0w release for 2.2.1 firmware as the Pwnage and QuickPwn tools haven’t yet incorporated this unlock into the tool flow just yet, but eager iPod Touch owners who don’t want to wait can follow these relatively simple instructions to jailbreak and untether your iPod Touch 2G on 2.2.1 firmware.

Restore your iPod Touch to its pristine factory state.
Windows users can download and install the libusb and c++ redistributable if you don’t have them already (password is “coderetard”).
Download the unofficialsn0w 2.0 package and unzip it somewhere (password is “coderetard”).
Download the iPod Touch 2G 2.2.1 ipsw firmware to the /IPSW folder where you unzipped the unofficialsn0w package.
Rename the file iPod2,1_2.2.1_5H11a_Restore.ipsw to OriginalFW.ipsw in the /IPSW folder.
Run the IPSW.bat script by double clicking it (this process may take a while). This is going to attempt to create a custom jailbroken firmware for you in the /IPSW folder. Make sure you renamed the .ipsw correctly in step 5 or this step will fail.
In the /IPSW folder, open jb.ipsw by right-clicking with your favorite zip package explorer like WinRAR or 7-zip and browse in the ipsw file to /Firmware/all_flash/all_flash.n72ap.production.
Delete the LLB.n72ap.RELEASE.img3 file in there and replace it with the one in the /IPSW folder. If you’re using WinRAR, this is just a drag and drop from the /IPSW folder into the WinRAR window.
As an alternative manual process to steps 7-8, you can try to add a .zip to the JB.ipsw file so that it is JB.ipsw.zip. Then extract the contents, replace the LLB file, and zip it back up. Then rename the zip back to JB.ipsw. We haven’t tried this to verify it will work, but it’s worth a shot if you don’t want to install WinRAR or 7-zip.
Make sure your iPod Touch 2G is plugged into your computer yet via the USB cable. Then put it into DFU mode by pressing and holding the power and home buttons for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds release the power button but continue to hold home until your computer beeps and detects a DFU recovery device.
Run RUNME.exe located in the root folder of the unofficialsn0w package.
Launch iTunes and shift-click restore to get the browse window for firmware to install. Direct it to your modified JB.ipsw file and you’re done.

After you follow these steps, you will no longer be required to tether your iPod to your computer if you wish to jailbreak it.

iPhone 2.2.1 QuickPwn 2.2.5 Upgrade Guide

The latest iPhone 2.2.1 firmware was recently unleashed to the world by Apple and just mere days later, the iPhone Dev Team provides the PwnageTool unlocking software. We’ve covered the PwnageTool upgrade steps before, but since QuickPwn 2.2.5 does the same job a lot easier, this guide will show you how to upgrade, jailbreak, and perhaps unlock your beloved Apple iPhone to run on the latest and greatest 2.2.1 firmware.

Connect your iPhone and start iTunes and you should get a prompt to upgrade your iPhone firmware to 2.2.1.
Allow iTunes to upgrade your iPhone to the latest 2.2.1 firmware. Don’t worry about the implications (losing jailbreak, unlock) as QuickPwn will take care of this for you. This step is necessary because QuickPwn doesn’t actually upgrade your iPhone. Instead, QuickPwn expects to be pwning the same firmware that your iPhone is on.
Download QuickPwn 2.2.5 for Windows or Mac. Extract the file and launch the QuickPwn 2.2.5 application. Then follow the prompt and connect your iPhone to your computer via the USB cable. When the blue arrow button lights up, click it.
QuickPwn is smart enough to detect the firmware ipsw file you downloaded via iTunes (something like C:\Documents and Settings\coderetard\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates\ on Windows XP). If it can’t find it for whatever reason, download the 2.2 restore firmware ipsw file for 2G iPhone1,1_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw or 3G iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw directly from Apple’s servers. Then browse to the or restore firmware ipsw file you downloaded. After the green checkmark appears, click the blue arrow button.
On the next page, make sure you select the “Cydia” checkbox. You can check “Installer” and replace logo as desired. If you have a 2G iPhone and wish to unlock it, also make sure to check the “Unlock phone” option as well. Click the arrow button after making your selections.
If you opted to unlock, you’ll need to download the 3.9 and 4.6 bootloader binaries. Browse to these in QuickPwn to load them. If you didn’t, you won’t get this screen so you can skip to the next step.
Now click on the Go button which will bring up a screen with some instructions. Follow them exactly to a tee. Just to prepare, here are the directions: 1) Hold Home for 5 seconds, 2) Hold Home and Power together for 10 seconds, 3) Release Power but continue to hold Home for 30 seconds. Throughout the process these three steps, you DO NOT LET GO OF THE HOME BUTTON until after the third step. I didn’t have to hold it anymore after it counted down to 18 seconds left.
Then sit back and relax while QuickPwn does all the hard work for you, you’ll see some activity on your iPhone screen and hear your computer beep a few times, but when it restarts finally, it’s ready to use.

QuickPwn iPhone 2G 2.2.1 Custom Firmware (Windows and Mac)

The newest iPhone 2G 2.2.1 firmware update from Apple was released earlier this week and iPhone Dev Team’s Pwnage Tool has just been released yesterday. With PwnageTool, you can create your own custom iPhone 2G firmware from Apple’s official IPSW file so that you can continue to run your jailbroken apps. The 2.2.1 firmware update does not contain any baseband firmware update (unlike the 3G). Jailbreaking is only possible with a custom firmware created with Pwnage Tool that adds in the Cydia and Installer programs as well as BootNeuter so you can continue to use your iPhone 2G unlocked. This is great… if you have a Mac. Windows users are left in the dark for now, at least until QuickPwn for Windows gets released.

But if you don’t want to wait, we’re actually providing the custom IPSW firmware created with Pwnage Tool as a free direct download for you to update your firmware without needing to wait for QuickPwn for Windows to come out. This only works, however, if you’ve previously pwned your iPhone before. With this firmware update, you simply need to put your iPhone in DFU recovery mode, launch iTunes and shift-click (Mac users option-click) on restore and browse to this custom firmware and use it to update your iPhone’s firmware. And that’s it. Since you’ve previously pwned your iPhone before, QuickPwn isn’t necessary for you and you won’t need to wait for QuickPwn Windows to be release. If it hasn’t been pwned before, then you’re out of luck and you’ll need to wait.

Download the iPhone 2G iPhone1,1_2.2.1_5H11_Custom_Restore.ipsw from us (MD5 sum = 78c77509086458742d06be479cbfce40). This includes the 4.6 bootloader which is a known unlockable version. It also contains Cydia and Installer. The custom boot logos were excluded.
Connect your 2G iPhone via USB cable and put it in DFU mode. To put it in DFU mode, turn the phone off. Hold power and home together for precisely 10 seconds. Release power but keep holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is recognized. At no point will the display come on. If this doesn’t work, try to press and hold power only. Keep holding power. As soon as you see any display on the screen of any sort press and hold the home button. Hold power and home together for precisely 10 seconds. Release power but keep holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is recognized.
Launch iTunes and shift-click on the Restore button (option click for Mac users). Then browse to the custom restore 2.2.1 firmware you downloaded from us and let iTunes do the rest.

Remember, this shortcut is for previously pwned iPhones only. You don’t need QuickPwn to upgrade to 2.2.1 if you can get your hands on a custom restore firmware like ours.

iPhone 3G 2.2.1 Firmware IPSW Pwnage Upgrade Warnings

Apple released the newest 2.2.1 firmware just a few days ago and today the iPhone Dev Team has released the latest iPhone 2.2.1 firmware ipsw compatibile pwnage tool along with some upgrading tips. The latest iPhone 2.2.1 firmware update has a new baseband version (02.30.03) packaged with it that is not compatible with yellowsn0w. So if you want to continue to use your iPhone 3G with any mobile carrier you best avoid the baseband update. To do so, you need to use PwnageTool and not the official iPhone 2.2.1 ipsw from updating via iTunes. Get PwnageTool and create your own custom ipsw firmware for 2.2.1 that does not contain the baseband update, then install yellowsn0w as usual. The custom firmware you create can contain Cydia and/or Installer to make installing yellowsn0w possible.

Update: Upgrade to 2.2.1 safely with our 3G custom restore firmware ipsw (we have 2G custom restore firmware too). This will work on all previously pwned iPhones without QuickPwn (good news for Windows users since QuickPwn Windows isn’t out yet).

Update 2: QuickPwn is out for Windows and Mac so if you’d rather not go that route with the custom firmwares, you can follow our comprehensive iPhone 2.2.1 QuickPwn 2.2.5 upgrade guide with detailed directions and screenshots of every step along the way.

From the Dev Team:

GOLDEN RULE: If you have a 3G iPhone running 2.2 firmware and you want to keep your ability to use yellowns0w (or the option to use it in the future) do NOT use QuickPwn, and do not use the official ipsw or the iTunes update process without using PwnageTool.

Yellowsn0w will NOT work with the baseband version (02.30.03) that is present in the recent 2.2.1 update – you will need to create a custom ipsw that will allow you to update safely without affecting the baseband.
Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.
Read items 1, 2 and 3 again and again.
At the bottom of this post are the bittorrent files for the latest versions of PwnageTool and QuickPwn.
These apps are suitable for the recent 2.2.1 release.
The Yellowsn0w version has been updated to 0.9.7. Yellowsn0w is available from Cydia or Installer - this version allows compatibility with pwned 2.2.1 system (not baseband) - again – remember 0.9.7 yellowsn0w DOES NOT WORK WITH 2.2.1 (02.30.03) directly- you need to be running a ‘pwned’ version of 2.2.1 which doesn’t upgrade the baseband.
Users of OS X 10.5.6 will be unable to use DFU mode correctly, please see the note towards the end of this post to easily fix this issue.

Wii Animal Crossing, WiiKey and 3.3 Firmware Compatibility Guide

Animal Crossing: City Folk is the latest Animal Crossing iteration out on the Nintendo Wii. With huge successes first on the GameCube and later the Nintendo DS, Animal Crossing City Folk offers the same aimless fun that fans have come to expect. The problem with the latest Animal Crossing is that it isn’t a straightforward burn and play for WiiKey users. Animal Crossing itself ships with the 3.3 Wii menu update, which is safe to install with WiiKey. However, the update alone is not sufficient to get your backup copy of Wii Animal Crossing to play nice with WiiKey. The missing step is actually getting the IOS38 wad installed on your system before it will work with the WiiKey.

This guide covers all the steps from how to burn the Animal Crossing ISO image to how to install the Wii Homebrew Channel via Twilight Princess hack to how to use Wii WAD Manager to install IOS38 to enable compatibility with WiiKey. This was testing working on Wii 3.3 firmware update but should work on 3.2 as well.

You have the option of brick blocking your copy of the Animal Crossing City Folk disc image. Just make sure you are running on either 3.2 or 3.3 firmware on your Wii. If this is so, you can remove the update from Animal Crossing with WiiBrickBlocker. On our Wii, we already had the 3.3 update installed so we removed it.
Burn the ISO image to DVD. We recommend burning with Clone DVD at low 4x speed to maximize readability.
If you don’t already have the Wii Homebrew Channel manager installed, you’re doing yourself a great disservice. It’s an absolute must for running great user-contributed homebrew apps on your Wii. If you’ve already got it installed, you can skip ahead to step 13. Otherwise to install it you’ll need to use the Twilight Princess hack. This means you need to have played Twilight Princess at least once on your Wii and had a game saved.
Format an SD card to FAT16 or FAT32.
Pick the proper game save to load based on the Twilight Princess version you played. More details can be found in our Twilight Princess hack guide.
If it does not already exist, make a directory called “/private/wii/title/RZDx/” on your SD card; replace “RZDx” with RZDE (US), RZDP (Europe) or RZDJ (Japan) as appropriate based on the inner circle text which varies depending on the version of Twilight Princess you played. Copy the correct “data.bin” file you chose from the hacked Twilight Princess gamesave package with the matching directory path into the directory you created on your SD card.
Copy the Wii Homebrew Channel hbc101-boot-dol.zip file to the root folder of the SD card (note that this is for 3.3 menu update and earlier). Extract the file which should be named boot.dol. You can delete the .zip package after you extract the boot.dol file.
Now, put the SD card into your Wii and turn it on. Go into Wii Options –> Data Management –> Save Data –> Wii.
Find your Zelda save, click on it, and click “Erase”, and click Yes.
Now, go into SD card, and select the “Twilight Hack” save (the icon says “Wiibrew Loader”). Click copy, and yes. Now, go back out of that menu.
Insert Zelda, and run the game. Load the file corresponding to the correct save slot as indicated in the table here (US only), and either walk backwards, or talk to the guy that’s standing in front of you. Worst case you picked the wrong file and try the other one.
Now the Wii Homebrew Channel will install itself as its own channel in your Wii menu. Follow the prompts to complete the install. You can delete the boot.dol from your SD card now.
If you don’t already have the Wii WAD Manager installed, you’re going to need to install it now to get the IOS38 wad installed. If it’s already installed, you can skip to step 16. Otherwise you need to create an "apps" folder in the root directory of your SD card.
Go into the newly created "apps" folder and create another folder called "wm13" for WAD Manager v1.3. Now go into this folder.
You should now be in /apps/wm13 on your SD card. Copy the WAD Manager v1.3 wm13-boot-dol.zip into this folder. Extract the file which should be named boot.dol (not to be confused with the one you extracted in step 7). You can delete the .zip package when you are done.
Go back to the root of your SD card. Now create a new "wad" folder in the root directory. This is where you need to place IOS38-64-v3609.wad (and any other wad files you wish to install) so that the Wii WAD Manager will pick it up.
Insert the SD card into your Wii’s SD slot and turn it on. Then open the Wii Homebrew Channel and start it.
It will automatically detect that you want to load the Wii WAD Manager. Click on it to load it.
Click "Load" on this prompt to confirm launch of the Wii WAD Manager.
Now Wii WAD Manager v1.3 by the (in)famous Waninkoko is launched. Click on the "A" button to continue.
Select the "Wii SD slot" slot as the source device by pressing the "A" button.
Select the IOS38-64-v3609.wad file by hitting the "+" (plus) button to install it. If you copied other WAD files, they will also show up here so remember to come back to this screen to load more if desired.
Press "A" to continue.
The wad will begin to install. You’ll see text like "Installing Content #0X."
When installation completes, press the "Home" button to reset your Wii. Though you won’t see any visible changes, IOS38 has been installed and Wii Animal Crossing will now play with WiiKey on 3.3 firmware update.
Insert your backup copy of Animal Crossing City Folk and enjoy the game!

Enable iPhone Safari Text Search with Safari+ and More

Safari+ is not an iPhone app, it’s just a webpage. But it’s not just any webpage, it contains useful links that enhance your mobile Safari browsing experience by adding text search capability, display just images on any page, display just the links on any page, scroll to the end, and language translations. The concept is simple: simply bookmark in your iPhone the bookmarklet. From iPuhelin’s website, makers of what they call Safari+:

How does it work? Simply open up Safari on your iPhone and browse to the Safari+ link. From there, scroll down a bit and choose the functionality you want to add to Safari. Let’s assume you want to add "Find in page" capability. Click on it and bookmark the resulting link. That link’s full URL is:

After saving the bookmark in Safari, go to your bookmarks and edit the URL by deleting all the text at the beginning of the URL up to the word "javascript" so that you’re new bookmark is:

What this does whenever you visit this bookmark is execute this useful piece of Javascript code on the current website you are browsing. The Javascript code here will give you a prompt for any string to find, simply type it in and you will see the number of results found and the search string highlighted. Heck, you can test it out right now without the iPhone. Copy and paste the "javascript:…" text into your address bar right now and see what happens. Then imagine the same thing happening in your iPhone.

Head on over to the Safari+ website on your iPhone and start bookmarking these useful functions now. Their main page has links to illustrated steps on how to add each bookmarklet.
