NeoDS: Neo Geo Emulator for Nintendo DS
Ben Ingram has finally made public today the NeoDS emulator for the Nintendo DS that can run Neo Geo MAME ROMs. Having worked for an entire year, a host of games have been tested to work including Fatal Fury, Metal Slug, and Samurai Showdown among others. The great thing about the emulator, besides the amazing fact that it streams 100MB games with only 4MB RAM available, is that you can use regular MAME ROMs. After going through a converter tool, the ROM is ready to be played on your DS. Freebie: US Pokemon Event at Toys R Us

No price cuts on DS or Wii in foreseeable future, says Nintendo
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has revealed that the company is not likely to cut the price of its ever popular Wii and DS gaming systems in the foreseeable future.
“Our earnings projection for the year is not based on hardware price cuts, and I don’t think we are going to need them,” said Iwata.
Despite supply shortages on huge demand for both systems, Nintendo revealed its fourth quarter earnings this week which showed the company has sold 18.6 million Wii consoles over the last 12 months, putting worldwide sales since launch at almost 25 million. The company also added that total sales were up 73 percent year on year “while operating income was up 115.6 percent and profit up 47.7 percent.”
Nintendo added that it hopes to sell 25 million consoles worldwide for the upcoming fiscal year. To meet growing demand, the company will also be ramping up production from 1.8 to 2.4 million consoles every month. Maybe this year there will be Wiis on the retail shelves next to all those PlayStation 3s and Xbox 360s.
Without specifically mentioning sources, Hamamura cited “murmurings in the industry as well as historical evidence” as signs of an upcoming replacement. Nintendo has released a new or updated handheld every 2 years since the early 90s and the DS Lite was released in 2006.
Nintendo has not commented on the story, and “has nothing to say at this time,” according to a spokesperson.
There have been few details about a new replacement but many have speculated that a new upgrade would add “media functions, such as dedicated audio and video playback as well as an additional slot for removable storage.”
Nintendo DS back on top of Japanese hardware sales
Thanks to the launch of Pokemon Ranger: Battonage, the Nintendo DS has once again moved to the top of hardware sales in Japan.
Looks like the Nintendo DS could possibly be joining its big brother the Nintendo Wii as a fitness tool. The Wii is currently used in some schools for kids to lose weight in PE and Wii Fit is coming out in April to solidify the Wii’s status as the weight losing game console of choice.

It’s Guitar Hero… on the DS???
We all know and love Guitar Hero–it’s available on all three of the current gaming consoles as well as the first XBOX and PS2 systems. Just when it felt like Activision couldn’t possibly release Guitar Hero on any more platforms, they surprise us with news that Guitar Hero will indeed be coming to a Nintendo DS near you.
Initial D for the Nintendo DS?
For all you Initial D fans out there, there’s been some rumors circulating that Initial D will be coming to the Nintendo DS, and guess what? here are some screenshots to flame the fire. If you’ve never seen the anime you’re missing out, it’s got a great mix of CGI and hand drawn animation during some intense car races on the mountainous roads of Japan featuring very very detailed and real cars like the AE86 Corolla and FC Mazda RX-7. Can anyone say: “Duuurriiifto?!?!”
