Get a Used Wii at GameStop for $249.99

Yes you read that right. A GameStop in Florida sold a returned Wii to a man at its full retail value at $249.99. When asked what justified selling a used product for a new price, the clerk explained, “The Wii is extremely hard to find, that’s why it’s $250 used.” What’s worse, the store managed to get the poor guy to buy the console at that price without even knowing if the warranty was still valid. Sure the Wii is hard to find but if you are patient and actively search (and are willing to line up a few hours before opening time on Sundays mornings) you should be able to procure a NEW unused Wii for $249.99. Either the patron didn’t realize this or else just didn’t care. Either way, we as consumers have to protest something like this when it happens by not buying. GameStop is a huge chain, it should be respectable. I can understand if a mom and pop shop did this for a quick buck, but why does GameStop need to do this? It only tarnishes their image. Stooping so low as to sell an old Wii for the price of a new one just goes to show you what a crummy place GameStop is.
