Check out this lovable crochet R2D2 plush toy! This little fellow was a precious birthday gift, made all the more special because it took the efforts of two people to make it, one to crochet, and the other to cut, glue, and sew. Of course, it being R2D2, appealing to the Star Wars geek within also scores it massive points. If you’re tired of the two boring themes that came on your PS3 and aren’t satisfied with user created themes, you might consider trying your hand at creating your own PS3 theme. The steps are really quite simple and all you need is a bit of time and creativity before you’re enjoying a fully customized skin tailored to your wants and needs on your PS3.

Using pure CSS to arrange hundreds of differently sized and colored characters, Roman Cortes has painstakingly drawn the current US President George Bush. It takes an artist’s eye and a CSS master to accomplish something like this, so props to Roman. It’s wonderful to see it being rendered like vector art when the page loads. To truly test if it’s really comprised of a bunch of characters, just highlight the picture on Roman’s page and you should see some familiar characters being highlighted. He’s also done a simpler Homer Simpson. Talk about taking ASCII art to another level.

These guys totally redid about half of Star Wars Episode IV in ASCII (they call it “asciimation”), complete with opening credits and dialog. There’s no sound or color or anything, but what would you expect from a painstakingly lovingly done ASCII movie?
