European gamers will get to play Japanese role-playing game Xenoblade, Nintendo said Thursday.

Titled Xenoblade Chronicles, the upcoming Euro release of the Wii game will ship with both English and Japanese voice-overs in addition to English, French, Italian, German and Spanish subtitles.

Developed by Baten Kaitos maker Monolith Soft, Xenoblade was a critical and commercial success when it came out in Japan last summer.

Though the name Xenoblade sounds a lot like Xenosaga, Monolith’s heavily cinematic RPG trilogy for the PlayStation 2, the titles are not directly connected. However, much of Xenoblade’s development team was involved with both Xenosaga and its spiritual predecessor, the classic PlayStation RPG Xenogears (one of my favorite games ever).

Will we see Xenoblade Chronicles in the U.S.? Sleuths on NeoGAF have found that Nintendo of America registered the domain name xenobladechronicles.com, which currently redirects to its homepage. Wired.com has contacted Nintendo for comment but has yet to hear back.
