QOTD: Should I Purchase An Iphone Or Ipod Touch?

Every so often, Code Retard features a QOTD or “question of the day” post on various topics we find interesting. Hope you enjoy today’s question!
My daughter has wanted an iPod touch, but I was also looking at the iPhone. If I was looking correctly, the iPhone was only about $50 more. Is it true that they have identical features, but the iPhone also has a camera. I am thinking the phone might be better because then she only has one thing to keep track of.
What is the montly fee for the phone?? Can you text with it?

They are basically the same exact thing but obviously the IPHONE has better features like the camera. But anyways, a month the iphone will cost you at least 90 dollars total, and it can do everything a phone can do which is amazing plus the wifi and 3g that you can get on the internet with anywhere which is amazing.
The ipod touch can only get on wifi for the internet but it is everything the iphone is except a phone. and you don’t have to pay a monthly fee for it which is good.
Depending on your financial status i would get the iphone, but the ipod touch is perfectly fine too. Either way, your daughter will be thankful for the awesome gift that you give her!!!
I have an Itouch and it is great, but like you said… it is hard to keep up with two things. The price varies with AT&T or Verizon(Im not sure which carriers have the Iphone) or other companies. But as you probably know it really just depends on if you want to pay the monthly fee, or just pay once. And, you can get apps to text on the Itouch … but the Iphone comes with text.
The people that I know who have the iPhone, adore it, and yes you can text on it and AT&T just made it so you can sent pictures and get them too. So an iPhone is probably a better investment, but its really up to your daughter if she wants one or not.
look dont listen to all the others buy an ipod then jailbreak and email me and i will tell you this one code that you can text with. the number is not going to be your cell hone number but the ipod number also with the ipod you can call people too and less expensive

I had both but I loved the Iphone much more. The only difference that I saw, is the I touch doesn’t have external speakers..
Which can be pain because when want to listen to music you have to plug in ear phones, and with the IPHONE you don’t have because it has external speakers.

iPhone, you have all the same benefits of the iPod touch, but with a phone and a camera, and yes, you can text with it, you can do pretty much anything with it.
Depends where you live for the cost and yes you can text with it. Get the iPhone, more features plus you get to put songs like what you would do in an iPod touch. And if it is $50 more, you get your money’s worth.
You got to sign a contract with ATT for the iphone it’s about 120 a month depends on the plan and no contract for the ipod . Good luck !
