Every so often, Code Retard features a QOTD or “question of the day” post on various topics we find interesting. Hope you enjoy today’s question!

Obviously the biggest difference is that the iPhone is a cellular phone and the iPod Touch isn’t. The iPhone connects to the internet via cellular signal, the Touch via wi-fi.
As for the price difference, the iPhone’s advertised price is subsidized by AT&T when you commit to a $70 a month plan for 24 months. Not that the 3g and 3gs networks are not available in all areas. You can still use the phone, but it will be slower. Without the commitment, the iPhone costs over $500.
The Touch, because it isn’t a cell phone, is obviously not subsidized by a cellular provider. If you have wireless internet at home, you connect to the internet on your home network. You can also connect at any hot-spot. Some are free, some aren’t. You can do a search for free hot-spots in your area. Most public libraries have free wi-fi.
Check out the Gallery at the Apple Store online to compare features. Also browse the App Store. Most apps are compatible with both devices.
