There is no such thing as a computer scientist.
The Geek Squad are computer technicians. Sort of like automobile mechanics, except they know the workings of both hardware and software of a computer, not cars.
In your education, you have to decide whether you want to work with the hardware, software, or programming of computers.
Software designers and programmers make far more money than do the “mechanics” or Geek Squad do.
To prepare for a future in “computers”, take all the math and computer classes offered.
Most of the programming, and software skills requires knowledge of various computer languages, many based on math principles.
You may have to go as high as calculus level to understand the various programming languages, which are normally taught at college level, not high school..
That’s why they pay more money than those who mearly “fix” broken computers.
