It looks like the fictional slave ship the Black Rock from the hit TV show Lost is actually real, and it actually is referred to as the Black Rock wreck. The story from USA Today reveals that the ship was engaged in illegal slave trade off the formerly British ruled Turks and Caicos Islands in 1841. The similarities between this real life wreck and the Lost show which leaves everything unexplained is uncanny.
The ship is a slave ship in real life and TV, comes from approximately the same time period, and was wrecked. The ship itself also has something of a fairy tale story behind it as well, as its whereabouts were actually determined from an old letter in a museum.

LOST: Load Of Sheer Tripe. I believe the writers have created literary corners that they have no intention of resolving, persisting in their delusion that “it’s about the characters” will be enough to satisfy the audience. When they lamely end the series and the audience realizes what they got snookered into (admittedly by good storytelling), they can kiss BluRay and DVD set sales good-bye, and the phrase “From the Creators of Lost” will carry the same influence as “From the makers of the Edsel”. I’m watchin’ this wreck ’til it’s a twisted pile o’ metal, though.
