About a month ago, to address rumors surrounding what Nintendo would do about a storage solution for the Wii to hold all downloaded content, Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime emphatically stressed that the answer would not involve a hard drive. Now it seems that Nintendo was true to its word. According to Satoru Iwata in a recent press conference, the Wii storage solution will simply use the SD card slot. Starting next year, gamers will be able to load games directly from the SD card slot (not like homebrewers weren’t doing it already) and will also be able to save downloadable content directly to the SD card as well. Satoru Iwata has just announced a facelift for the fast-selling Nintendo DS Lite slated to be released near the end of the year, most likely just in time for the big holiday season. The new DS, dubbed the DSi, will sport a camera to take pictures and support music playback functionality.
