Well, I just picked up a Sony UX and wanted to blow off Windows Vista that came with it. At first I couldn’t figure out how to get into the Biaos. For sht Sony UX, you need to push “FN+2″ when you are at the VAIO boot up screen. This will launch you into the biaos.

To get the UX to boot from a CD or DVD rom, you need to into the advanced tab, and change EXTERNAL Drive Boot to “ENABLED”

Then go to the Boot Menu and make sure that USB Optical Drive is above the Internal Hard Drvie.
