wow thanks so much!! I followed the steps and had a success in upgrading my 2g 1.1.4 to 2.1 firmware unlock… with no problems!!

and hey if a Lady like me can do it, then anyone can.. just follow the steps

and thanks to the custom firmware too!!

I sailed through the upgrade to 2.1 but the phone funtion isn’t now working properly. When you press the phone button, the keypad shows briefly then disappears again. I can recieve calls but can’t end them, or make calls. Any help much appreciated!

Everything went fine. Just follow the instructions, no matter the version of the firmware you are currently using.

Just great, I updated with a firmware created in pwnage tools for mac.

Now I finally have my iPhone 2G running 2.1 and unlocked.

No need to enter dfw mode just shift+restore.

Hello,
Well started by G2 phone unlocked with ziphone ver 1.1.4
2- contain all my music, video clips beside
other setup
3- i did sync in itune 8 before i started

4- follow ur guide using the custom file
to restore to 2.1

5- i did tried other method before but did arrive to the same problem.

6- the problem after sync with itune eveything was ok except ipod

i tried to use other program like pc suite
could not add music or video, used sharepd different ver no luck

this the only problem i did face

was using already 2.0 software unlocked phone, just did shift restore and it worked womderfully thanks to all of you who give out this info in a user friendly manner!
