Sony introduced the official PS3 bluetooth headset that will go on sale as part of the SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation package when the game gets released in October. The headset can be paired up obviously with anything that has bluetooth capabilities like your cell phone or computer but its true capabilities (the ones that will make you part with $49.99 anyways) will be unlocked with a firmware update at a later time.

Why buy the official PS3 bluetooth headset? Because it boasts higher quality voice chat when used with the PS3, something your regular bluetooth headset won’t be able to take advantage of. Another nifty feature is “voice animation” where your on screen SOCOM character will actually be animated to speak as you say a command. The SOCOM package that ships with the headset is $59.99 or else is available separately for $49.99.
