I recently “upgrade” my Dell XPS 1530 to Windows Vista x64 and the drivers where a pain to find. Dell never offered a Vista x64 version of this laptop so if you go to their site, you have a hard time finding the drivers you need. I did however find a great source for the drivers. Below is the list that I found:

..’hard time finding the drivers you need’ …
for x64 ?! forget it. all i could get was drivers for x86 XP-Vista.
I’m running x64 XP on a Dell Inspiron 1720 … so I would like to see if these drivers work on it.
Seems like I’ve been scouring the net for x64 drivers for ages on my crappy dial-up connexion.
So, 10x a million 4 these links.
Gonna DL and try them out …

I was wondering if I would be able to install these drivers, or other drivers, on my 1530 if I installed XP SP 2 or 3, because I’m starting to dislike Vista very quickly.

For me, the hardest driver to track down was the TouchPad driver.

Thanx 4 this! I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and these drivers work just fine other than the video. It appears the only real difference between the two is the 1525 has integrated Intel x3100 graphics vs. the 1530’s nvidia 8600gt?! I grabbed the gm965 mobile chipset driver off of Intel’s website.
Thanx again! I Googled for x64 drivers and this was like the 3rd link. Saved me a TON of time!!
You can get **ALL** the drivers from Dell now. This includes the fingerprint reader, ** AND ** the web cam driver WITH ALL the icons etc. etc. In other words – EVERYTHING works in 64 bit. PS – the computer is WAY faster than the 32 bit nonsense it came with. Great link.
