Forget v3.96 in Hot Shots Golf 2, the newest PSP system software update, v4.00, has been released as an official PSP update from Sony. The newest feature this update adds is integrating Google search directly to the XMB (XrossMediaBar) interface. It allows direct access to the search bar without having to go to www.google.com first and is able to store the last 20 search queries.
To try out this new feature, download and install the firmware on your PSP, click on the Network icon and then the new Internet Search icon. Then simply enter in some keywords. It’s not super high tech or anything and there’s nothing added that you couldn’t have done before (I personally just had a bookmark) but it’s nice that it’s just slightly more convenient to make a search, at least by a few clicks.
Another new feature delivered through the 4.00 update is the ability to change viewing speed during playback of videos stored on your Memory Stick PRO Duo, so you can speed through or slow down what you’re watching. To do this simply press the up or down directional buttons while playing a video.
