OK, it sold out. I think it might be sold out for good now, seeing how yesterday, they had a message to check back, but today, just plain old sold out…

This limited edition version sucks and is stupid to get unless you plan on reselling it on ebay…

I’d much rather get the $500 version for myself. 80 gig HD AND its the backwards compatible version…
good luck making the quick buck…

“Thankfully, a far better alternative will be available: the “PlayStation 3 Metal Gear Solid 4 Pack” (pictured on the right). That $500 version includes the premium 80GB PS3 model (in the standard basic black), which offers the flash card reader and backward compatibility with PS2 games (both absent in the 40GB PS3 included in the Konami model).”
Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence Limited Edition copies have pretty significant value because it’s truly limited in print run. They are impossible to find now, and their ebay value corresponds with its rarity. Bioshock is another example that comes to mind.”

I think they only made 5000 of these Metal Gear PS3’s so its fairly rare, and only selling it on Konami makes it not easily known about.
