Rock Band

Harmonix, makers of a little music and rhythm game called Rock Band, announced that it would be releasing expansion packs for the Wii and PS2 containing new tracks that were previously only available to Xbox and PS3 consoles through digital downloads. With Wii and PS2 versions shipping with dumbed down versions of the game without career mode and character customization, at least Harmonix isn’t leaving these gamers out in the cold. For $30 you can get yourself the Rock Band Track Pack Volume 1 expansion disc with 20 new tracks. But get this: these games won’t require the original Rock Band game to run at all. They will be standalone games. Expect the expansion pack to ship on July 15. Rock Band for the Wii ships June 22.
