Case manufacturers were rumored to have already obtained the case specifications for the new 3G iPhone and this picture could be considered the proof. The pictures show both the current iPhone next to the newer one for comparison. Judging from the tapering diagram, it looks like the 3G iPhone will indeed be slightly thicker but with a more tapered edge. While the screen size remains the same, it looks like the sensors above the screen have been slightly rearranged. If you count, perhaps an extra sensor is getting added as well, iChat camera anyone? The back casing has been replaced with a black plastic material and the aluminum casing on the top side is a tad thinner. The speaker holes are gone and look like they are replaced with two large holes. The most intriguing thing to note: new color variations! It looks like the new iPhone will be coming in white, black, or even possibly red! Assuming this pic’s the real deal anyways. Blame iLounge if it turns out it’s not.
