After four weeks and a whirlind US city tour, the Sleepless Roadshow made its final stop at Microsoft Office System Developer Conference for the Tournament of Champions.

Team Strongbad from Dallas has emerged as champions and will have their choice of THREE HUGE PRIZES including trips or a HOME THEATRE SYSTEM.

Two of the winners opted for the “Home theater package”, and the 3rd decided to go on a trip to Alaska.

The home theater package was supposed to include:

“I love my home theater” Complete Home Movie System

1000W 5.1 Channel Home Theater system

50” Flat panel 1080p LCD TV

XBOX 360 HD DVD player

Guitar Hero III for the XBOX 360 with 2 guitar controllers

Monster Cables

But the winners opted out for best buy gift cards that totaled up to the theater prize amount. Best Buy apparently doesn’t sell gift cards in the $5,000 dollar range, and thus had to split up the prize amount over 12 cards.

Here is the official email:

Hi XXXX and XXXX,

When you sent that I’d just gotten confirmation internally we could switch the prizes from physically ordering ourselves to giftcards. I just got off the phone with Best Buy and put the order in – so they will be processed and sent out.

The way the giftcards work, I could not get one giftcard for $5,094 – they don’t make them that big. So you will get a total of 12 giftcards each for the total amount of $5,095. So a little cumbersome but this way I hope this gets you what you want.

I’ll be following up to let you know the shipment status!

I’m trying to do the math here but $5,095 / 12 = $424.58333333333333333333333333333. Then again, I suppose they don’t all have to be exactly the same amount.
