Wii Wheel

If you’re excited about Mario Kart for the Wii and have been keeping up with the news, you might have heard about the Wii Wheel. The wheel is simple a steering wheel that houses the Wii controller for real-feel racing in Mario Kart to make driving feel more natural. Despite it’s simple design, it took Nintendo over 30 prototypes to get it right.

According to Shigeru Miyamoto, the brilliant mind behind Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong among others:

A steering wheel is so easy to understand. Almost everyone has the experience of using some kind of steering wheel, from riding toy cars with pedals as children, to driving real go-karts at a theme park. Everyone knows how to turn the wheel right in order to go right. Besides, I kind of wanted to make a product that would come in a big box for a change!
