Our host is freaking retarded…even more so than us. Sorry for all users experiencing speed issues, here is the letter they wrote to us.

Hello,

Sorry about the continued problems for those of you in the XXXXXXX cluster. The status update on this problem is that the moves have been running with a higher success rate. This means that we will have this problems behind us as soon as possible.

We are looking at a few more days of problems where performance should be steadily improving. We have already received reports that web service has been better. Email service is still having connection dropped issues, but those have gone down as well.

Right now based on how quickly we are moving data we are thinking that we will really turn the corner on this problem by Friday. This is just an estimate and a lot of it depends on how successful the moves are going.

For now service will be up and down until we really have this issue completely resolved. As stated in previous messages you can write to status@host.com and we will send one update daily explaining what we are doing to resolve the issue.

If you feel you need further assistance or if you feel your problem is not related to the file server issues please feel free to contact ralph@dreamhost.com directly. Please keep in mind that both of these addresses must be contacted from an administrator contact on your account. So this does not include email addresses you have hosted with us, just your admin contact information.

Sorry about the continued problems. We want this issue behind us as soon as possible and we are working towards that goal. We will also be having meetings looking for further ways we can improve this situation faster. We thank you for your patience during this trying time.
