UMEMD - Carry 4 Memory Sticks with your Sony PSP

There’s never enough memory to go with your PSP, especially if you’ve hacked it and you’re playing with 1GB+ ISOs. I’ve got a few memory sticks scattered around somewhere, and it’s tough to keep track of them all. One of our writers did discover a nice little way to carry an extra memory stick around… in the UMD slot. Well it looks like Team Xecuter took the idea even further, making a prototype case to carry four memory sticks in the UMD slot of your PSP. The case, termed the UMEMD (U-MEM-D like UMD, get it?) will only fit in your PSP-1000 (the old fat ones) models, but looks to be a great clean, slick way to carry around extra photos, movies, music, and games. Look for these babies to be sold in two weeks time.

Sugar in Gas Tank Doesn’t Kill Cars

/* Posted March 28th, 2008 at 7:15am [Comments: none] */
/* Filed under Automotive, News */

sugar-spice-blends-sm1.jpg

Judging from the entries made on one police blotter after another, cars around the nation are having their gas tanks sugared by those whom their owners have displeased. Why is this happening? Because, according to widespread belief, sugar poured into a gas tank will
turn into a poor man’s version of liquid cement and quickly render the vehicle’s engine unfit for anything but a junkyard. In theory, the sugar dissolves into the gasoline, then travels along the fuel lines into the engine, where the heat of the vehicle’s operations melts the sweetener into a dense sludge that gets into every nook and cranny of the engine. The sucrosed engine seizes and halts the vehicle in its tracks, but the real damage comes when the engine cools and the sludge hardens to rock-like consistency. Only the replacement of the entire engine will render the car fit for use again, says popular wisdom; otherwise, it’s kiss your jalopy goodbye. Read more »

Apple Mac Air Gets hacked in under 2 min!

This year, the PWN 2 OWN hacking competition at CanSecWest was over nearly as quickly as the second day started. Apparently Charlie Miller (iPhone hacking fame) visited a website which contained his exploit code, which then allowed him to seize control of the computer, as about 20 onlookers [read: unashamed nerds] cheered him on. Of note, contestants could only use software that came pre-loaded on the OS, so obviously it was Safari that fell victim here.

Mr. Miller was awarded $10,000 and the free Mac Air.

HM Digital TDS

From my previous article, “How clean is your water at work”, I was asked, “What is considered unsafe and undrinkable water?”. I actually had no clue as to what levels in ppm was considered unsafe. And thus I began my search.

Club where girl, 12, stripped will keep license

Place where girl, 12, danced can’t be closed under city ordinance

The mere fact that a 12-year-old girl danced nude at a northwest Dallas strip club isn’t enough to close its doors.

That’s because the city ordinance that regulates sexually oriented businesses does not allow authorities to revoke the license of such a business for employing someone under the age of 18.
