For the 12 year anniversay, Electronic Arts has released the classic Command & Conquer Tiberian Dawn RTS (real time strategy) game for free online.
EA has provided the original Command & Conquer Gold as a free download to celebrate its 12th B-day. It is compatible for Windows XP. This is the same version included with the collectors pack Command & Conquer: The First Decade.
Command & Conqure Gold will run on Windows XP, but you will need to burn the ISO to CD or load it from a virtual drive.

Wow this game was totally awesome back in the day. Whatever happened to Westwood Studios? Those guys also made Dune 2, the grandfather of the RTS genre.
