Famed Russian art studio art lebedev, known for their OLED keyboard shipping today for a cool grand, might want to consider venturing out into the laptop world. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to customize each key on your laptop exactly how you want it? Laptop real estate is especially small, and I find that buttons can vary wildly from each laptop maker. For example, the home button could be on the side, at the top, accessible with “fn”… etc. With an Optimus Maximum keypad on every laptop, you could bring your own key configuration with you no matter what brand you use. While OLED is ten times worse lifetime than LEDs, which by the way last forever, the cost and power are the current issues keeping this dream from becoming a reality. Meanwhile, you can drool over the possibilities…
